Light-sensitive silver halide element, useful as positive or negative, black-and-white or color photographic element, is sensitized with azolyl benzazolyl mono- or trimethine cyanine with acid-substituted alkyl groups
Light-sensitive silver halide element, useful as positive or negative, black-and-white or color photographic element, is sensitized with azolyl benzazolyl mono- or trimethine cyanine with acid-substituted alkyl groups
Photographic element with a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains an azolyl benzazolyl mono- or trimethine cyanine (I), with acid-substituted alkyl substituents on both ring nitrogen atoms, as sensitizing dye. Photographic element with a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains an azolyl benzazolyl mono- or trimethine cyanine of formula (I), with acid-substituted alkyl substituents on both ring nitrogen (N) atoms, as sensitizing dye. n = 0 or 1; X, Y, Z = oxygen (O), N, sulfur (S), selenium (Se) or carbon (C); X' = O, NR13, S, Se or C; R1, R2 = acid-substituted alkyl; R4 = hydrogen (H) or alkyl; R6, R7, R8, R9 = H or a substituent; or C(R7)-C(R8) or C(R8)=C(R9) = condensed 5- or 6-membered ring; R13 = (substituted) alkyl; if X, Y or Z = C; R10, R11, R12 = H or a non-aromatic substituent; if X' = NR13; R4 = H.
