A flameproofing composition for mesh foil comprises (parts by wt.): red phosphorus (1.5-15), melamine sulfate (5-50), metal hydroxide (40-150) and an aqueous dispersion based on a polyolefin resin containing solid resin (25-70), based on 100 parts by wt. of the dispersion solids. Independent claims are also included for: (1) A flameproof mesh foil prepared by impregnating or coating a multi-filament mesh foil with the above composition, followed by warming. (2) Preparation of a flameproof composition including a mixture of red phosphorus, melamine sulfate, metal hydroxide and an aqueous dispersion based on a polyolefin resin, in which the aqueous dispersion is obtained in the first step and the red phosphorus, melamine sulfate, and metal hydroxide are added in one or more subsequent steps.
