The compressor has a drive shaft (18) and a swash plate (20) turning with it. The plate inclination relative to the shaft determines the compressor piston (28) stroke, and the plate is loaded by a displacement return spring (27) to increase the angle. The spring does not load the swash plate when it is in or near its max. angle of inclination. One end (271) of the spring is fastened to a set part of the drive shaft. The min. angle of inclination is determined by the length of the spring when it is completely compressed. The plate is pressed in direction of min. angle by an erection spring (25). When the compressor is stopped, the swash plate is in a set starting position, in which the spring forces are balanced.
