A video-audio-system is placed in a motor vehicle to capture traffic information from signals and signs available on or adjacent to the road. The video recording system consists of one or two video or CCD type cameras which are connected to an on board computer that processes the information and gives information or warnings to the driver in acoustic, especially spoken format.
