The holder for protective shrouding at rotating shafts, such as vehicle drive transmission propeller shafts, has half-shells round the cylindrical section (10) at the end of each half-shaft with a fork (1). A carrier slotted round nut (2) grips at a protective shrouding (3) and at a protective tube (4), surrounded by a sealing sleeve (5). The outer surface of the half-shaft cylindrical section (10) acts as an inner race for balls (15) within a cage (6), while the half-shells are the outer race for the balls (15). The half-shells are held in place between the retaining edges (20,21) of a slotted round nut (2) and the cylindrical section (10) of the fork end. The balls (15) are in two rows (13,14).
