The data processing memory system is used with abstracted syntax data (0101) and uses a converter (0102) for receiving transfer syntax data. This converts the data into an internal data format and then relays this to the abstracted syntax data memory (0103). There is also an abstracted syntax definition memory (0104) which contains a listing of syntax data definitions.
