Monolithic ceramic capacitor, comprising a sintered ceramic body of core/shell structure has a specified core/shell cross-sectional area ratio. A monolithic ceramic capacitor comprises overlapping spaced inner electrodes within a sintered ceramic body consisting of dielectric ceramic particle cores covered with lower dielectric constant material shells, the ratio of the core area to the shell area being 7-3:3-7 over the ceramic body cross-section in any direction. An Independent claim is also included for a pressed and sintered ceramic body for forming the above monolithic ceramic capacitor.
