The assembled mudguard mounting upon which the rearwheel mudguard is fastened is fitted into the saddle support tube from the bottom. Fixing of the mounting in the tube is then carried out by a quick release clamp(5) which has a tensioning nut(8) bearing upon a wedge(7) acting upon clamping jaws(3,4) located in a T-slot in the mounting. The two clamping jaws and wedge may have a 45 degree bevelling to provide a stepless adjustment in their internal clamping area.
