The method of applying topical therapy for the symptoms of back pain and muscle tension uses a topical applicator support system which is fixed over an intact area of skin of the back or over a joint. The support system is filled with a therapeutic dose of a local anaesthetic which is then targetted on to the skin region below the topical support system and administered. The shape of the support system is designed to match the area in which it is intended to be used. It can be filled with separate anaesthetics, or a combination.
