The invention relates to substantially photochemically cross-linked polysaccharide derivatives that do not contain photopolymerisable functional groups prior to the cross-linking, which can be used as carrier materials for the chromatographic separation of enantiomers. The photochemically cross-linked polysaccharides according to the invention in conditioned form can also be used as pure polymer for the chromatographic separation of enantiomers.
