The procedure is designed to generate a new root system, just below the head of the date palm, in order to allow its recovery and replanting. The process involves development of the root system, in a roll of compost, held in a truncated conical hopper (7), which acts as the reservoir, and which is fixed around the trunk; cutting down the tree and then cutting out the section of the trunk, under the newly generated root system, and finally replanting the head with its new root system, in the ground.
