The sun visor comprises a rod which is fixed to the vehicle and an inclinable arm (3) which is mounted and braked on this rod. A principal body (2) slides on the arm through a tube (1) and is held in a predetermined position along the arm. A lateral flap (9) is pivoted on the body. The tube slides telescopically on the arm. Vents enable the inlet and outlet of air contained between the arm and the inside of the tube. The rod is fitted with a roller having two braking faces. A device (10) which brakes the side flap comprises two cheek webs (24) forming a tube (25) which encloses the rod support cylinder (26). A housing (29) contains a spring (27) and a ball (28).
