Road caltrop barrier used e.g. by police to stop a vehicle in emergencies

The barrier point (1) is tubular and sharp and is provided with an internal channel (12) and a longitudinal slot (13). When the point penetrates a tire, the slot and the channel form a path for the outlet of air. The base of the barrier is constituted from crosspieces articulated around vertical axes ( delta v) enabling the withdrawal or deployment of the barrier. The points are mounted on in the base by elastically deformable sleeves (4) and the crosspieces are assembled by washers (11) in which the sleeves are inserted. The points can be resiliently inclined over a limited amplitude from their vertical rest position.
