The fabric cutting table has a nipper mechanism (70) for the covering material, on a support (74) at the take-off table (54). A nipper (76) pivots on the support (74) between a working and a free position. In the working setting, the nipper grips the recovery material (23) over a fabric stack (14), to move it. A wheel (80) is mounted to the nipper (76), rotating on an axis, to bear with pressure against the recovery material (23) to hold it against the moving surface of the table (54). A spindle is mounted to the support, parallel to the wheel axis. Two springs act on the spindle and wheel axis to hold the wheel (80) with the nipper (76) against the table. The wheel is structured to match the surface of the table conveyor. The nipper has a spring, and a pair of springs hold the nipper in the working position. The nipper support (74) has a right-angled mounting plate fixed to one side of the table, to carry a suspension arm for the swing nipper. A handle secures the nipper in the working and free positions. An Independent claim is included for a cutting table (20) which supports the fabric stack (14), where the materials for cutting are fed in at one end (26) and removed from the other end (30). A cutting head (22), with the cutter, has movement over the cutting table (20) to cut the fabric stack (14) into shaped sections (16). The take-off table (54) is flush with the exit end (30) of the cutting table. The nippers grip the recovery material (23), and place it under tension to move it while the fabric stack (14) is transferred from the cutting table (20) to the take-off table (54). Preferred Features: The nipper system (66) for a recovery material has one nipper mechanism of for a recovery layer (70) on one side of the take-off table (54) and a further nipper mechanism (72) for a recovery layer at the opposite side of the table (54).
