A chip (50) with two magnetic heads and corresponding pairs of contacts (P1,P2) is mounted on a base (60) with slots which allow a printed circuit (70) to be located partly above (82,84) and partly below it. The printed circuit has contacts (P'1, P'2) for connections to external equipment and conducting tracks whose terminations are soldered to the magnetic head contacts (P1,P2)
