The pressure in the fuel pipe (25), between the initial fuel circulation pump (2) and the high pressure pump (9), is regulated by a valve (4), which regulates the volumetric flow, and a valve (5), which regulates the pressure to a pre-adjusted value, and which is situated between the initial pump and the flow regulating valve. The pressure between the initial pump and the flow regulating valve is controlled by a differential pressure valve (3) as a function of the pressure downstream of the flow regulating valve.
