Noise-absorbing block used for practice-firing of firearms made from series of softwood panels with central apertures interleaved with plates

The block is made up of a series of softwood e.g. pine panels (1) with central apertures (2), interleaved with plywood plates (4) which are thinner than the panels and have smaller apertures (5). Frames (7) of a supple and elastic cellular material are fitted in the panel apertures, and the plates and panels are joined together in blocks by rods (9) with threaded ends for nuts (10). During use the end of the firearm barrel is inserted into the block's central apertures.
