A single projecting device is utilized as aerodynamic obstacle to increase stability of balloon during ascent, and it is mechanically fixed to the balloon's envelope, on the upper hemisphere so that any aerodynamic force acting on it is transmitted to the balloon. Turbulent air flow around the device prevents air flow sticking to the surface of the balloons lower hemisphere.
