The gas generator body (1) contains a gas cartridge (6) with a firing pin (9) arranged opposite it. A retaining pin (8) is inserted through an opening in the body and a slider (7) to hold the slider in a standstill position. A releasing rope is used to remove the pin from the slider which is spring mounted (5) to force the firing pin and gas cartridge together.
