Re-hydrating energizing composition, for use mainly in feeding young animals no longer able to digest milk normally, comprises lactose or glucose, mineral supplement, soluble vegetable protein and vegetable lipids

The composition is new. The composition comprises lactose or glucose or the product based on lactose or glucose, mineral supplement ensuring restoration of digestive losses, and effective quantity of soluble vegetable protein and vegetable lipids ensuring appropriate energy intake, at the ratio of sources of energy as follows: sugars 50-60%, proteins 10-20% and lipids 25-35%. Mineral supplement preferably comprises sodium, potassium, magnesium or/and calcium cations and chloride, bicarbonate, phosphate, acetate, propionate or citrate anions and contains mineral or organic salts. The composition may further contain lactose, in amount 40-55 g/l (as identical as possible to its content in milk, i.e. approximately 50 g/l). The protein content is preferably 8-14 g/l and vegetable lipids content 8-12 g/l. The energy intake of composition is preferably 30-70% of that of similar milk composition.
