Measuring device and system for establishing the comfort level of bedding or seating, taking into account the weight and morphology of the user

The measuring device consists of a cover (3) in which is incorporated deformation sensitive flexible strip sensors (4). The cover (3), see Fig.3, incorporates two foam plaques (11) whose thickness is about 2 cms each, between which is transversely inserted the sensors (4). The plaques (11) are enveloped in a cover (12). the upper part of the mattress (3) has a synthetic fiber cover (13) whose thickness is about 5 mm. The sensors (4), (see Figs. 6,7,8), are made from steel strips which extend over 50 to 70 percent of the mattress width. The strip is fitted with strain gauge type (20) parts. Each sensor (4) has a central part (16) encased in two rubber layers (17) whose thickness is about 2 mm.
