The implant consists of an endo-osseous metal body e.g. of pure titanium or an alloy of titanium and vanadium or aluminum, having a threaded outer surface (12) and an axial channel (26) for fitting a prosthetic accessory. It has a trans-mucous head (14) with a central metal extension (16) having an anti-rotational surface and surrounded by a ceramic ring (18). The implant consists of an endo-osseous metal body e.g. of pure titanium or an alloy of titanium and vanadium or aluminum, having a threaded outer surface (12) and an axial channel (26) for fitting a prosthetic accessory. It has a trans-mucous head (14) with a central metal extension (16) having an anti-rotational surface and surrounded by a ceramic ring (18). The ring is made from a bio-inert material such as high-pressure zircon, a zircon-based mixture or aluminum with a purity of over 98% and preferably at least 99.9%. The ceramic ring is fixed in place by a light-reticulated, and preferably UV-reticulated resin.
