The vehicle chassis assembly (2) is formed such that engine (1) and steering (8) assemblies can be mounted. To provide additional strength to the chassis in the case of a frontal impact, two stops (10) are fixed to the chassis assembly in front of the steering and engine assemblies. In the event of a frontal impact, the stops prevent further deformation of the front end of the vehicle past and pre-designed crumple zones.
