Hydraulic and pneumatic piston/cylinder units include components made of synthetic resin covered reinforced concrete (4) or of reinforced resin concrete. Novel hydraulic and pneumatic piston/cylinder units comprise one or more components made of a molded hydraulic concrete (4) which contains additives, reinforcing fibers and metallic reinforcements and which is protected, especially against the hydraulic fluid, by a molded synthetic resin covering (5). An Independent claim is also included for hydraulic and pneumatic piston/cylinder units comprising one or more components of molded resin concrete which consists of a mixture of thermosetting resin and aggregate and which contains reinforcing fibers and metallic reinforcements. Preferred Features: The hydraulic and pneumatic piston/cylinder units are closed by a concrete base with embedded inserts (3) for supporting and fixing the base to other components and for connection to pipes for supplying function fluid into the hydraulic and pneumatic piston/cylinder units. The hydraulic and pneumatic piston/cylinder units contain a concrete piston with embedded inserts for fixing guide and sealing joints and any damping elements to the piston rod.
