The location protection mechanism has an active unit (2,4,6) and a command activation mechanism for a local access door lock. Door lock opening is achieved using a coded key (14) which is carried by the authorized user. Entry can be achieved with the coded key and distance transmission (16) release. Activation and release of the lock are achieved with a receiver unit (18) and the operation of release and activation are separate from the key setting and the lock opening mechanism (12).
