The present invention relates to a modular interconnection architecture for an extensible multiprocessor machine. It includes a first level of interconnection (MI) comprising connection agents (NCSi) connecting the multiprocessor modules and managing transactions between the multiprocessor modules, and a second level of interconnection (SI) comprising external connection nodes (NCEj ) connecting the nodes (Nj) to each other and managing the transactions between the nodes (Nj).
