A fifth metacarpal fracture splint

A splint has a backstrut (1), lying along the length of a fractured fifth metacarpal on the dorsum of the hand, to which are attached two sidepieces (2&3), one at or adjacent each end thereof. These sidepieces extend around the ulnar border of the hand so as to lie on the palm, and thus provide stabilization and protection of the fracture.
