Composite bearing with resin layer incorporating PTFE dispersed as particles in PEEK

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is dispersed in the form of particles in a base resin consisting essentially of polyether ether ketone (PEEK), with the proportion of PTFE in the resin layer from 0.1 to 50% by weight, and the PTFE particles having a molecular weight of 300,000 to 500,000. The resulting resin layer is bonded to a backing metal to form a composite bearing; the peel strength of the resin layer and the bonding force between the backing metal and the resin layer is greater than similar resins with PTFE particles of lower weight.
