PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and economical electron storage ring capable of low emittance operation and being inserted with a mini-undulator or a superconducting wiggler. ;SOLUTION: An electron storage ring is formed so that three same-shaped first deflection electromagnets 1, 2, 3 arranged in series and two four-pole electromagnets 4, 5 interposed therebetween are used as major elements, that a tripple chromatic bend(TCB), wherein a horizontal beta function βx and a dispersion function η in the center of each of the electromagnets are reduced as much as possible even if the dispersion function at an end of a module becomes a comparatively large value, is used as a first basic module, that, second deflection electromagnets each having a half length of the first deflection electromagnets being used, the electromagnets are arranged in order of the first deflection electromagnet - the four-pole electromagnet - the second deflection electromagnet - the second deflection electromagnet - the four-pole electromagnet - the first deflection electromagnet, that a TCB wherein a dispersion function in each of straight line parts formed between the second deflection electromagnets is made zero is used as a second basic module, and that these basic modules are arranged plurally in series.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
