PURPOSE: To increase fertilizer response by applying alginic acid oligosaccharide (AO) to field crop, lawn, other planting, etc. ;CONSTITUTION: This is a fertilizer response-promoting agent containing AO as active component or holding AO on a carrier (e.g. active carbon) or a fertilizer response-promoting fertilizer composed of a fertilizer and AO. A compounding ratio of AO in the fertilizer response-promoting fertilizer is 0.1-5.0 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of a liquid fertilizer and 0.01-1.0 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of a solid fertilizer. Fertilizing amount is 10-500ppm in the case of liquid fertilizer and 40-4500g every 10 are in the case of solid fertilizer, in terms of AO respectively. These materials are each used by spraying on leaves, mixing into irrigation water, adding into water of water culture or directly applying on soil. AO is an oligosaccharide composition obtained by decomposing alginic acid, sodium alginate, or algae such as tangle or polysaccharide produced by microorganisms containing alginic acid in the presence of an enzyme such as alginic acid lyase or hydrolyzing these materials with an acid such as hydrochloric acid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
