PURPOSE: To extract and measure an oil component by using a solvent safe to environment. ;CONSTITUTION: A sample 15 is attached to the leading end part of a sample support 14 made of a stainless steel to be placed in a sample treatment chamber 8 and, after the air in the chamber 8 is replaced with nitrogen gas, a mixed solvent 2 of hexane and acetone is heated and gassified while being held to an azeotropic mixing ratio. The vapor of the mixed solvent is guided to the sample treatment chamber 8 through a solvent vapor pipe 9. The sample 15 is cooled by a cooler 16 through the sample support 14 and the solvent vapor comes into contact with the sample 15 to be cooled and condensed to be a liquid and this liquid dissolves the org. matter such as the oil component bonded to the sample 15 to drip in a container 12. Since the container 15 is heated by a heater 13, the azeotropic mixed solvent is immediately volatilized and the extracted org. matter having a b.p. higher than that of the solvent is left in the container 12. A tablet for infrared spectrometry is propared from the org. matter and the absorption intencity of a C-H bond in the vicinity of 2920cm-1 is measured by infrared spectrometry to quantitatively determine the amt. of the oil component.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
