PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gene diagnostic reagent for bovine Chediak-Higashi syndrome for detecting whether variation of bovine Lyst gene exist or not by including a restriction enzyme FokI, its isoschizomer, etc. ;SOLUTION: This gene diagnostic reagent for bovine Chediak-Higashi syndrome for detecting whether variation part of bovine Lyst gene exists or not is obtained by including an enzyme selected from a group comprising a restriction enzyme FokI and its isoschizomer. Furthermore, bovine CH-S gene is diagnosed by preparing bovine nucleic acid sample, subjecting the sample to gene amplification reaction by PCR(polymerase chain reaction) method, etc., to amplify a region containing a variation part capable of existing in bovine Lyst gene, comparing a material obtained by treating amplified nucleic acid fragment with the diagnostic reagent with amplified nucleic acid fragment not treated with the diagnostic reagent and detecting the existence of the variation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
