PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the period construction work by preventing the material to be dug, such as gravel, that flows in from a sludge pipe from clogging some part. ;SOLUTION: A semi shield machine includes a cutter head 5 for digging the ground, a shield cylinder 3 into which the material dug by the cutter head 5 flows, an end sludge pipe 37 placed inside the shield cylinder 3 and allowing the dug material to flow therein, and a rear end sludge pipe 39 secured to the first end of the end sludge pipe 37. In this case, at least the bore of the end sludge pipe 37 increases from an end to a first end, while the bore of the first end of the end sludge pipe 37 is approximately equal to the bore of the end of the rear end sludge pipe 38.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
