PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain the position of the origin of a cross head even for an electric injection molding machine. ;SOLUTION: An apparatus has a movable platen 15, a toggle support 11 installed opposite to the platen 15, a double toggle type toggle mechanism which is installed between the platen 15 and the toggle support 11, a cross head 23 which is arranged freely movably forward and backward and actuates the toggle mechanism, a position detecting sensor for detecting the position of the cross head 23, and a regulation means for regulating the movement of the cross head 23 at a position to determine the origin of the sensor. Since a stop position can be set up by making the cross head 23 retreat from the position where the origin was determined, the position of the origin of the cross head 23 can be obtained correctly even for an electric injection molding machine, generating stable mold clamping force.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
