PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new agent for treating parasitic dermatosis effective for the treatment of parasitic dermatosis such as demodectic mange which is frequently found in dog and occasionally found in pig, cattle and human by using a specific organic germanium compound as an active component. ;CONSTITUTION: An organic germanium compound of formula II [X is OH, O-lower alkyl, amino or OY (Y is metal such as sodium and potassium or a compound having basic group such as lysozyme or basic amino acid)] is used as an active component of the objective agent. The compound is produced by hydrolyzing a trihalogermylpropionic acid of formula I [R₁ to R₃ are H, lower alkyl (e.g. methyl or ethyl) or (substituted)phenyl], optionally converting the product into an acid halide and reacting with an alcohol, ammonia, etc. The objective agent for the treatment of parasitic dermatosis for oral administration (e.g. tablet, powder or capsule) or parenteral administration (e.g. injection) can be prepared by adding an auxiliary agent such as diluent and colorant to the active component and forming in a pharmaceutical form.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
