PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a system for screening a compound which controls the transcription of aggrecanase 1 gene related to various diseases, clones a promoter domain, elucidates a base sequence and affects the expression of aggrecanase 1.;SOLUTION: A base sequence of a promoter domain at the upstream of an aggrecanase 1 gene is elucidated, a vector in which a reporter gene is connected to the downstream of the promoter domain of the aggrecanase 1 gene or a promoter domain deficient in a part of the promoter gene is prepared, transferred to a mammalian cell and the compound affecting the expression of aggrecanase 1 can be screened.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
