PURPOSE: To facilitate adjustment of delimiting position of audio data after recording by connecting preceding and succeeding data to audio data for forming unit data and for continuous recording and at the same time recording the delimiting position information. ;CONSTITUTION: In recording and reproducing audio data, the audio data are recorded intermittently in units of cluster but are continuously recorded without changing the cluster even at the delimitation between programs while the audio data are continuously recorded. Namely, the final part of the first program and the head of the i+1-th program are recorded in one cluster. On the other hand, when a stop or a pause key is pressed during recording or halt, data recording is suspended by units of cluster and new data are recorded starting from a new cluster without connecting in the middle of the cluster when record mode is selected again. When the data do not reach one cluster, specific pattern data (0) are recorded for forming and recording one cluster and then the positions of the final data of i-th program and the head data of 1+1-th program are stored.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
