WIRE GUIDE MADE OF DIAMOND MATRIX SINTERED MATERIAL FOR WIRE ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINE HAVING EXCELLENT TOUGHNESS AND SHOCK RESISTANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire guide made of a diamond matrix sintered material for a wire electric discharge machine being excellent in toughness and shock resistance. ;SOLUTION: A wire guide for a wire electric discharge machine has a composition formed such that, according to optical microscope observation, a diamond phase occupies 90-98 area % and a rest consists of a magnesium carbonate phase and obligatory impurity. Further, this wire guide is constituted of a diamond matrix sintered material having a structure formed such that, with a diamond phase and a magnesium carbonate phase penetrating each other, the phases forms respective peculiar skeleton structure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
