PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a cooling function without forcibly starting a compressor by taking in outside air in cold seasons when the pressure on the suction side of the compressor falls below a specified value. SOLUTION: A refrigerant is sucked, compressed and delivered by a compressor 1 and the delivered refrigerant is condensed and liquefied by a condenser 4 while the liquefied refrigerant is evaporated by an evaporator 7 to cool air and the inside of the room is cooled by a room fan 12. In air conditioner of such a type, an opening part 20 is provided to introduce outside air while the opening part 20 is provided with a damper 30 free to open or close and a control part 31 is provided to drive the damper 30 to be opened or closed. When the outside air of the air conditioner falls below a specified temperature, the damper 20 is driven by the control part 31 to open the opening part 20 and the outside air is introduced into the air conditioner to be supplied to an object to be cooled.
