PURPOSE: To supply stable power and further to attain smooth switching from existing line specification to new Shinkansen line specification by providing a tap, switching trolley wire voltage to the new Shinkansen line specification and to the existing line specification, in an autotransformer of 1:n system. ;CONSTITUTION: In the case of running an existing line electric rolling stock 6 on a rail 5 of existing line specification, power supply voltage of 55kV is supplied as the existing line specification from a substation 1 accross a trolley wire 2 and a feeder wire 3. A switching tap 7 of an autotransformer 4 is left as switched to a side of an existing line specification contact B. In the case of switching to new Shinkansen line specification, the power supply voltage of the substation 1 is switched to 63kV, and the switching tap 7 is switched to a new Shinkansen line specification contact A. Even before and after switching by the switching tap 7, since voltage between rail/feeder is fixed to switch only trolley wire voltage matched with the existing line/new Shinkansen line, changing the power supply voltage from the substation is only required by a voltage difference 8kV between the existing line specification and the new Shinkansen line specification.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
