Wet type flue gas desulfurization tower

PURPOSE: To maintain high desulfurization performance even if spray quantity of a liq. absorbent droplets is lessened and to lighten the load of oxidizing treatment in an oxidizing tank to decrease the volume of the oxidizing tank by greatly accelerating the oxidation of calcium sulfite in the liq. absorbent droplets in a spray reaction part. ;CONSTITUTION: A liq. absorbent which is sprayed from a spray nozzle 4 and absorbs SO₂ in exhaust gas and whose pH is lowered is temporarily collected by a collector 11. Air is normally blown off from perforated piping 12 to oxidize calcium sulfite in the liq. absorbent, causing the pH to be restored. When the liq. absorbent overflows the collector 11 to let it flow down, finally the load of oxidation tank treatment is lightened to make the volume of an oxidation tank 6 to be about two thirds of that of the conventional technique.
