Working set computing device and working set computing manner

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to properly designate the control of a working set for a job of which a virtual memory space quantity is changed. SOLUTION: When a virtual space allocating/releasing means 4 allocates or releases a virtual space 2 in a job 1, a virtual apace quantity calculation means 5 calculates a virtual space quantity. When a real memory allocating/ releasing means 6 allocates or released a real memory 3 in the job 1, a real memory quantity calculation means 7 calculates a real memory quantity. Then, a real memory allocation ratio calculation means 9 calculates a real memory allocation ratio from the calculation result and a threshold input means 10 compares the calculated ratio with a threshold set up by a user. As a result, when the former is larger, a working set calculation means 8 reduces a working set and releases a part of the real memory 3 by page-out.
