PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the occurrence of a service fault due to the effect of interruption on an application processor function as the results of excess load imposed on an application processor, a failure of the application processor, a maintenance operation or others.;SOLUTION: A wireless communication network 2 is provided with two programmable application processors(APs) 32, 34 for message processing. Each AP performs radio control software(RCS) instances 60, 62 in an active state in be half of a group of defined cells 6 and also performs the RCS instances in a standby state in behalf of at least another group of cells. Each cell in the network is connected to a couple of APs. The one AP executes the one active RCS instance in behalf of the cell and the other AP executes one standby RCS instance in behalf of the cell.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
