PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light butterfly valve for a container excellent in durability and easy to assemble, disassemble and wash. ;SOLUTION: In a butterfly valve having a main body 1 put the cylindrical half bodies with the same shape and size together in the axial direction symmetrically and put a band 2 around its outer periphery and a disc shape valve element 3 installed in the main body turnable and constituted by bearing the short shaft 13 projected from the one end side of the radial direction of the valve element 3 and the long shaft 14 projected from the other end side, penetrated the band 2 and installed a handle on its tip, to the main body 1 respectively, a cap shape bearing case 5 is installed attachably detachably in the opening 15 provided on the center of one end side of the radial direction of the main body 1. A Teflon resin slide bearing for bearing the short shaft 13 is installed in the bearing case 5 and a cylindrical bearing sleeve 6 is installed in the opening 16 provided on the center of the other end side.
