ANTIMICROBIAL RESIN MATERIAL CONTAINING INORGANIC FILLER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently express antimicrobial properties of an antimicrobial resin material filled with an inorganic filler such as calcium carbonate and the like as a filler without reducing antimicrobial activities of the antimicrobial agent caused by dissolved ions of the inorganic filler. ;SOLUTION: In case when an inorganic antimicrobial agent is added to impart antimicrobial activities to a resin to be mixed with an inorganic filler, especially calcium carbonate and the like, as a filler, the filler is treated to impart water repellency and the like on its surface in advance and the surface- treated inorganic filler is added to fill the resin. Thus, reduction of effect of the inorganic antimicrobial agent is suppressed and activities of the antimicrobial agent are sufficiently expressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
