EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROLLING CATALYTIC CONVERTER, DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER SYSTEM, AND THEIR MANUFACTURING METHODS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel particulate filter system, an exhaust emission control catalytic converter, and their manufacturing methods facilitating the installation works of a diesel particulate filter (hereinafter called a DP filter) into a metal shell and reducing the exhaust gas amount. ;SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for the DP filter system comprises a process for converting the DP filter 3 with a retainer seal material 1, a process for inserting them into a pipe-shaped metal shell 2 having inside diameter larger than the inside diameter of the product, and a process for spinning, at least, the insertion part of the DP filter 3 in the metal shell 2 so as to make the inside diameter of the insertion part smaller till the inside diameter of the product. This exhaust emission control catalyst converter can be manufactured by replacing the DP filter with the catalyst carrier.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
