PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for analyzing the peaking factor of teeth of an engaging mechanism which can easily find the peaking factor of teeth with high precision by using the size inspection result of a product. SOLUTION: The largest value (Max Gap Delta) among the sums of gaps between adjacent teeth in some engagement state is found according to the size inspection result, and the peaking factor of the teeth is repeatedly found for the maximum value to find their correlation. When the shape size inspection result of the teeth is obtained by using the correlation, the maximum value of the sums of gaps in all engagement states can be found and the peaking factor of the teeth corresponding to the maximum value can easily be set. Consequently, a peaking factor of teeth used to design the engaging mechanism is corrected and a peaking factor used to calculate the life of the engaging mechanism is corrected to enable high-precision designing and life calculation.
