PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To daily secure the effect of charcoals and to obtain the effect such as temperature adjustment, air purification, sterilization, and heat insulation by using a building material containing charcoals as a trimming material for the ceiling or wall of the room of a building. ;SOLUTION: Cement is applied as a binder 2 on the surface of a wall 3 or a ceiling 4, charcoals 1 are arranged on the surface of the binder 2 before it is hardened so that the longitudinal direction of the charcoals 1 becomes nearly horizontal, and they are thrust and hardened. When the charcoals 1 are used as the trimming material of a bathroom, the dripping of waterdrops from the ceiling 4 and the mildew generated on the wall 3 easily occurring in the bathroom having high humidity can be prevented. The absorbed humidity is properly discharged when the bathroom is dry, and excessive drying can be prevented.
