PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical catalyst for cleaning NOx in combustion exhaust gas, capable of efficiently cleaning NOx even in such a state that the concentration of oxygen in combustion exhaust gas is high. ;SOLUTION: The electrochemical catalyst consists of an NOx reducing catalyst 1, a hydrocarbon oxidizing catalyst 2, an ion conductive substance 3 enabling the movement of ions between both catalysts, an electron conductive substance 3 emabliing the movement of electrons between both catalysts and an NOx absorbing substance 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
