ETHYLENE-ETHYL ACRYLATE COPOLYMER WITH HIGH ETHYL ACRYLATE CONTENT AND WITH LOW MELT FLOW RATE, FLAME RETARDANT RESIN COMPOSITION, MOLDED ARTICLE THEREOF AND PREPARATION OF SAID COPOLYMER
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compsn. having excellent filling characteristics and mechanical properties by forming an ethyleneethyl acrylate copolymer in which the ethyl acrylate content lies in a specific range and the content has a specific relationship with the melt mass flow rate. ;SOLUTION: In this ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer, the ethyl acrylate content lies in the range of 20.0-30.0 wt.% and the ethyl acrylate content represented by EA (wt.%) and the melt mass flow rate represented by MI ((g/10 min) have a relationship which satisfies the equation: 0.1≤MI0.0494EA-0.141. One hundred pts.wt. of this copolymer is blended with 5-250 pts.wt. of a flame retarder such as magnesium hydroxide with an average particle size of ≤40 μm to form a resin compsn. This copolymer is manufactured by putting a raw material in which ethyl acrylate is 0.5-1.5 mol% of ethylene into a tubular reactor to copolymerize them in the presence of an org. peroxide under a pressure of 230-300 MPa and at an average temp. of 160-190°C with a max. of 200-300°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
